The line we hold
No amount of money moves a venue up a list, into a "best of", or onto the homepage as though we chose it. Every one of those is an editorial decision, and it is the only reason the recommendations are worth anything. An advertiser buying that would be buying the thing they came for and destroying it in the same transaction.
Anything paid is labelled as paid, in plain language, on the page where it appears.
That label, in that wording, sits on every paid item, in the position a reader sees before the content rather than under it.
