Ben Thanh Market

Saigon's best-known market, built by the French in 1914 at the end of Le Loi, with the clock tower over the south gate. Inside are stalls of fabric, souvenirs, coffee, dried fruit and a food section serving pho, broken rice and che. Prices start high, so bargain. The indoor market closes around 6pm. After that, food and souvenir stalls set up on the streets alongside.
